DOHA – Qatar’s RasGas company said it delivered Monday the first shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Portugal, saying it was still looking to widen its clientele.
The cargo was delivered to the Portuguese company Galp Energia at the Sines LNG terminal, RasGas said in a statement that did not specify the volume of the sale.
“RasGas has so far exported LNG to 14 countries, and will continue to seek opportunities to deepen its existing relationships and reach a more diversified portfolio of clients,” RasGas executive marketing officer Khaled al-Kuwari said in the statement.
RasGas, a joint venture between Exxon Mobil Corp and state-controlled Qatar Petroleum with seven production trains, is using 27 tankers to transport gas from its rich North Field to its clients around the world, Kuwari added.[Read More]
