
TEHRAN – President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has called for greater interaction among countries in the Middle East.
He made the remark in a meeting with Sheikh Hamad Bin Jassim Bin Jabr Al-Thani the prime minister and minister of foreign affairs of Qatar on Thursday.
“Brotherly mutual ties and cooperation between Tehran and Doha is improving day by day, and the officials of the two countries are taking steps forward to further promote these ties,” Ahmadinejad stated.
“Surely, such relations are not only to the interest of the two states but also the interests of the Middle East and the Islamic world in general,” Ahmadinejad added.
The president emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran defends the territorial integrity and independence of the countries in the Middle East, particularly the littoral states of the Persian Gulf.
