The Greater Accra Weightlifting Association (GAWA) has commenced preparations for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in India, to be held later in the year.

The Association would on July 23, organize a one day weightlifting championship at the Azumah Nelson Sports Complex.

Saka Acquaye, Great Accra Regional Sports Development Officer said in a press statement that, the championship is to put the weightlifters in perfect shape for the Games. [Read More]
