Charles Martey is basking in the glory of winning the maiden 36 Hours of Freedom 2010 golf tournament at the Tema Country Golf Club last Saturday.
Mr. Martey pulled clear in the Men’s field gaining a massive score of 43 points to beat near challenger Dickson Lawerh Keteku by as much as 5 points to secure only his 3rd ever competition victory.
But the newly crowned champion does not want to end there, he has promised to make more prizes’ podiums at future tournaments.
“I feel good to win today, I wasn’t surprised because I am good and I keep getting better,” Martey told SportsInGhana.com shortly after receiving the top prize of a giant trophy from Belinda Bhoodoo, Head of sponsors Eli Lilly Sub-Sahara Africa.
“Now I want to win more and fill a new showcase for trophies in my house. Once you win, you always win,” new champion Charles Martey added.
Ernest Opoku came third on 34 points and also got a trophy as prize, same as runner-up Keteku as well as F Andoh who finished 4thon 33 points. [Read More]
