
Drake & Scull Water and Power (DSWP) has been awarded an AED182 million design-and-build contract by Dohaland for two district cooling plants in its flagship Musheireb project in Doha, Qatar.
The scope of work includes detailed design and construction of the chiller plants, cooling towers and all equipment and services. The combined capacity of the two proposed plants is 29,250 tonnes of refrigeration (TR).
“This is another important milestone in the Musheireb project, which is progressing according to schedule,” said Dohaland projects director Mohammad Masoud Al Marri.
The contract also covers the design and construction of a chilled water reticulation network, including valves and valve chamber details; the design and construction of complete MEP building services for the plants; testing and commissioning; and the operation and maintenance of the district cooling plants for a minimum period of five years.
