Al Saflia Island is one of the several islands that lies in the water of the Arabian Gulf that encompasses Qatar on its three sides. Qatar is situated in the Middle East. The country is a peninsula projecting out into the sea. The other islands that add to the territorial extension of Qatar are Shrao Island, Ishat Island, Haloul Island and Alia Island.

Al Saflia is an extremely small island. It constitutes an area of 0.8 square kilometers only. Compared to the other islands of Qatar its landmass extent is very small. Yet Al Salflia Island features as one of the top most tourist destinations in Qatar.

Al Saflia is accessible by boats and speed boats. The industry of tourism in Al Saflia Island is flourishing with thousands of vacationers choosing this as one of their favorite holiday destination in Qatar. A boat ride from Doha to Al Saflia Island takes only about 15 minutes. Travelers from all over the globe visit Doha, the capital of Qatar, in every season of the calender. For tourists who come to visit Doha, arrangements are made by Qatar Tourism for excursions to guided trips to all the islands, including Al Saflia Island.

The pleasant weather and the cool blue water along with the wonderful scenic background has turned Al Saflia Island into a popular tourist resort.
