HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani receiving Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri in Doha yesterday.
They reviewed bilateral ties as well as issues of mutual interest. The meeting was attended by Advisory Council Speaker HE Mohamed bin Mubarak al-Kholeifi, director of the Arab Affairs Department at the Foreign Ministry Ibrahim Abdulaziz al-Sahlawi and Lebanese Ambassador Hassan Saad. Earlier on arrival in Doha, Berri said in a statement that Qatar had played “a significant role in restoring solidarity and unity among the Lebanese.” He cited the Doha conference for the Lebanese national dialogue in May 2008 as laying the foundation for the government of unity in his country. He praised the “role played by Qatar under the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani in providing all potentials and efforts to restore solidarity of the Lebanese people”.
